Hello friends and welcome to The Midlife. This week is a Re•Invented episode that I am very excited to share with you. But first a little backstory.

Soon after I dove into social media marketing for The Midlife, I was approached by a company pushing menopause supplements that wanted to send me product so I’d get you to buy it. I was enraged and complaining to my eldest son. In the midst of my rant, my wise old soul trapped in a young man’s body interrupted me and said, “who do you think your target market is?”. I stopped dead in my tracks. He nailed me. This was less about me being uncomfortable as some kind of spokesperson and more about the fact that I was unwilling to think of myself as approaching menopause. 

Like so many other natural parts of a woman’s life, menopause is still a taboo subject. By not talking openly about the physical and mental changes that happen over an average of a 10 year period (yes ma’am, menopause is just a moment in time that marks the end of your period), we are left to wonder if we really are having symptoms and are they normal. We resort to crowdsourcing information and slapping random remedies together in the hope of “just getting through it”. 

Until now. 

My guest today is Maryon Stewart. Maryon has written Manage Your Menopause Naturally: The 6 week guide to calming hot flashes and nightsweats, getting your sex drive back, sharpening memory and reclaiming well-being. This is her 28th book. She is a world-renowned healthcare expert having helped tens of thousands of women around the world overcome PMS and menopause symptoms without using drugs or hormones. In 2018 she was awarded the British Empire Medal and was recognized as one of the 50 most inspirational women by the Daily Mail.
